Rat Introductions Diaries – Day 3

Fluffy Jellyfish

If you caught the first post and second post you will already know that we are in the process of introducing our three new rat boys to the original mischief. We are on to day 3 of introductions…

We left off, in the previous post, with the rat boys being moved into the little rat cage, with a few hammocks introduced. They all settled in wonderfully, and there was no real fighting, just a few scuffles. They slept in the cage overnight, and we found them all cuddled up together in the hammocks in the morning.
This morning we added a rope, a litter tray, and a few toys. I then distracted them with a scattering of seed mix while I scooped up some of the poops in the substrate. With eleven rats in a cage designed for no more than three, it was starting to smell a bit…

A Nighttime Treat: Clipper Tea Snore & Peace Review

In My Teacup Today

Organic chamomile, lemon balm and lavender infusion. Just the thing before lights out.” [source]

In my teacup today is the Snore & Peace Infusion from Clipper Teas. This review was requested by the wonderful Casey Bee, and I am glad she did as it is a beautiful tea!
One thing I really love about Clipper Teas are the cute illustrations that decorate all of their packaging, and really enhance the bliss in the tea-making experience. As soon as you tear open the individually wrapped envelopes the smell of spearmint mixed with chamomile hits you, and is only intensified upon brewing. I really enjoyed everything about this tea. The main ingredients are signposted as chamomile, lemon balm, and lavender, for me, the main flavour profile was that of chamomile, and spearmint, with just a light hint of lavender in the aftertaste. I did not taste the…

Meerkat Pups: A trip to Exotic Zoo

Fluffy Jellyfish

We are sitting inside a tiny wooden hut with heavy rain pelting off the roof. Around us tiny feet are scurrying, and a friendly zookeeper is telling us all about our animal hosts. In my hand mealworms are wriggling, and writhing, and a tiny little curious face has come over to investigate….

You may have spotted the Exotic Zoo van in your town, you may have possibly been at one of our Animal Man parties, or we may have visited your school – We’ve been popping up all over the place! Perhaps you spied Scott on TV whilst appearing on shows like Blue Peter, The Sam and Mark show and The Alan Titchmarsh Show. The exciting news is we have just built a brand new zoo in Telford! In the summer of 2017 we opened our doors to the public for the first time. We want to mix our…

Cakes & Roses: An Eteaket Review

In My Teacup Today

I’m sitting outside in the crisp sunshine, enjoying watching people bustle around on the busy streets of Edinburgh. Before me, a rose is blossoming inside a teapot…

Premium green tea & rose petals expertley sewn & crafted together by an artisan skilled in ancient craft. When steeped in hot water, they produce the most fascinating formations.” [source]

I really enjoy theatre with my tea, and watching a blossoming bundle of leaves is a perfect form of entertainment to relax the senses. Combine that with the ritual of pouring the tea, wrapping my fingers around the teacup handle, and delightedly sipping at the steaming contents is devine.

Rose Flower Blossom from Eteaket is a beautiful unfermented green tea with fragrant rose petals which add a mellow sweetness to the tea. It is served in a clear plastic (my only issue with today’s experience, as the scratched plastic…

The National Pet Show 2018

Fluffy Jellyfish

This past weekend we had an adventure at The National Pet Show 2018at the NEC Birmingham… it was fantastic!

The National Pet Show celebrates pets, and aims to bring together animal lovers, and owners to show off their pets, and provide educational resources into the various animals we can share our homes with. The event was spread out over one large hall of the NEC, and was split up into different villages, featuring: small furries, animals (comprising the reptiles, minibeasts, fish, farm animals, and birds), cats, dogs, and a marketplace.

Let me tell you a little bit about each part of the show that I enjoyed…

Dogs (12)

The largest section by far was the Dog Village, which was not exactly unexpected as dogs are the most popular pets. It is also very easy for visitors to be able to interact with the dogs, as they all loved being pet…
